Our Approach

Our pricing reflects the level of service we provide. While we may not be the lowest-cost option, our clients value the additional strategic insight, proactive tax projections, and structured billing process that eliminate surprises and create clarity.

We focus on:

Plan ahead.
Communicate clearly.
Deliver value.

Accounting. Advisory. Tax.

PLJ Consulting was built with intention — not just to provide accounting services, but to create a firm centered on proactive strategy, clear communication, and long-term client relationships.

Founded in 2018, PLJ began as a professional venture rooted in experience and entrepreneurial leadership. After spending several years in executive leadership within the agricultural and business sectors, Pete returned to public accounting with a clear vision: build a firm differently.

He recognized that great firms are not built alone — they are built around great people. Seeing exceptional talent and leadership potential in Louisa, Pete made the decision to formally launch and grow PLJ Consulting as a team-based firm. What began as a vision quickly became a dedicated office, a growing staff, and a client base built on trust and strategic guidance.

Today, PLJ Consulting continues to grow intentionally — focused on quality over volume, proactive planning over reactive compliance, and communication over confusion.

Our Philosophy

We believe accounting should do more than record history.

True value comes from looking ahead — providing clients with the insight and projections they need to make informed decisions before the year ends, before tax deadlines arrive, and before opportunities are missed.

Our firm emphasizes:

  • Proactive tax planning

  • Strategic advisory services

  • Transparent, upfront billing agreements

  • Clear and consistent communication

  • Long-term client relationships

We are selective in the clients we serve because we believe meaningful advisory work requires collaboration. When clients are engaged in proactive planning, we can deliver measurable value.

Built Around People

At the heart of PLJ Consulting is our team.

Each member of our staff brings experience, professionalism, and a commitment to helping clients understand their financial picture — not just receive reports. We prioritize accessibility and responsiveness, ensuring every client receives the level of clarity and education they desire.

We don’t believe in transactional relationships.
We believe in partnerships.

Joyce Tvrdy

Joyce Tvrdy built both her family and her career in the community she still proudly calls home—where she fondly remembers riding her horse down Main Street. This strong local connection continues to shape the way she serves clients today.

Joyce is an experienced accounting and operations professional whose background spans public accounting, healthcare administration, and agricultural business management. In her role at PLJ, she specializes in financial statement preparation and helps clients maintain accurate, reliable reporting they can use to make informed decisions.

Her career began in a therapy clinic, where she managed bookkeeping, oversaw day-to-day office operations, and contributed as a member of the leadership team. Her financial insight and leadership abilities eventually led her to become a co-owner of a clinic, where she helped guide both financial strategy and organizational growth. One of the most rewarding aspects of that chapter was building lasting relationships and watching people grow in confidence and success.

Joyce later expanded her expertise in the agricultural sector, serving as controller for a 40,000 cow dairy operation. In that role, she managed real-world financial systems alongside office administration, demonstrating her ability to pair detailed financial oversight with hands-on operational leadership.

With a unique blend of practical accounting experience, business ownership, and management expertise, Joyce brings a grounded, perspective to financial reporting and organizational efficiency. She is known for her honesty, loyalty, and commitment to the people she serves—someone who is willing to step into complex challenges and advocate for her clients with confidence.

Outside of work, Joyce values integrity and lives by a strong faith-based foundation. She enjoys music, the outdoors, and spending time with her family—and she will be the first to admit that cooking is not one of her strengths.

Louisa Vandever

Louisa Vandever is a dedicated accounting professional with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lewis-Clark State College. She brings experience in construction, medical, and agricultural accounting and provides tax and accounting services to clients across a variety of industries.

Known for building genuine, long-term relationships, Louisa believes accounting should be about more than simply putting numbers on forms. Her goal is to become a knowledgeable resource for her clients’ businesses—helping them understand their financial position, make informed decisions, and build a stronger, healthier future for their companies.

Outside of work, Louisa enjoys the outdoors and the natural beauty Southern Idaho has to offer.

Shantel Perschon

Shantel Perschon was raised in Teton Valley, Idaho, and earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boise State University. She now lives in Hagerman, Idaho, where she is raising her family.

Shantel feels fortunate to live and raise her family on Idaho soil. She feels most at home with the smell of cows, the sound of irrigation sprinklers, and the sight of familiar faces at every intersection—experiences that reflect her deep connection to the communities she serves.

After college, Shantel spent a tax season with the oldest CPA firm in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, before joining Western States Equipment, where she worked in sales tax, fixed assets, and financing.

She especially valued her time in the heavy equipment industry because it gave her the opportunity to work with miners, railroad workers, farmers, dairy producers, construction crews, and tribal leaders. She also appreciated seeing the visible impact that work had on the community, as the equipment helped build schools, roads, and many other important projects.

Shantel has always been fascinated by business—especially the many different ways people build something meaningful. She has a deep respect for entrepreneurial grit and enjoys seeing what people are able to create, grow, and sustain through smart decisions and hard work.

Professionally, Shantel’s goal is to provide the support and direction business owners need to thrive—in both their companies and their communities. She finds deep satisfaction in helping people move toward greater financial clarity and personal success.

When she is not working, Shantel can usually be found dangling her feet off the dock with her three girls, running a T-ball practice, helping her husband with the latest project, sitting around a campfire, or pressing grapes into juice.

She hopes her path crosses yours in a meaningful way.
